The Greens have welcomed the decision of the Malinauskas Government to establish an independent inquiry into Greyhound Racing in South Australia.
Greens animal welfare spokesperson Tammy Franks MLC has emphasised the necessity that the inquiry have broad terms of reference and wide-ranging powers.
“The SA Greens have long advocated for an inquiry into greyhound racing practices in our state and is a welcome step towards long-overdue industry reform,” she said.
“The inquiry must not only be independent but have the necessary powers to end the cruelty in this industry.”
