Yes We Cannabis 

One in three Australians have tried cannabis at least once. It is high time that our laws caught up with the reality of our community!  We need a way forward, with a legal market, and protections in place for cannabis consumers. 

 Ending the war on cannabis is a win-win. We take away the business model of organised crime and we help people, often vulnerable, with a disability, or living with chronic pain, to enjoy a better quality of life. We also utilise a new economic resource. Our climate here in South Australia allows us to make world-class wine and is (already) ideal for growing world-class weed. Our state could easily become the home of fine food, wine, and weed grown in a clean green environment. 

 Please join The Greens own David Shoebridge and Tammy Franks as they chat all things Yes We Cannabis and their respective campaigns to legalise cannabis for adult use. We are excited to be working with the SA Young Greens for this event, with questions submitted by members and their own Sian Davies as MC.  

David Shoebridge is a Greens Senator for NSW. Within his law career, David focused on personal injury law, employment and discrimination. Since being elected in the NSW Senate in 2022, David has been a champion of The Greens “Let’s Legalise It” campaign. 

Tammy Franks is Co-Leader for The Greens SA and long serving Member of the Legislative Council. Tammy is Chair of the Joint Committee on the Legalisation of Medicinal Cannabis and currently has a Bill to legalise cannabis for adult use here in SA.
