SA Greens Urge Malinauskas Government to Reveal Timeline for Phasing Out Battery Hens

The South Australian Greens have called on the Malinauskas Government to disclose its plans to phase out battery hens, following a commitment made by the Minister for Primary Industries, alongside other State and Territory Agriculture Ministers, over a year ago.

Battery cages are widely recognised as an extreme and inhumane form of factory farming that subjects hens to a life of confinement and suffering.

Despite overwhelming public demand for an end to the cruel practice, a concrete plan of action has yet to materialise.
