Greens Call for Consultancy Inquiry Following PwC Tax Scandals

The SA Greens are calling for South Australia to follow the lead of New South Wales and the Federal Government to launch an inquiry into the use of consultants by the State Government, following the increased fallout from the PwC scandal.  

PwC has faced week of hearings in the Federal Parliament over their misuse of confidential government tax briefings and has been forced to stand down nine unnamed partners over the widening scandal that is now the subject of a police investigation.  

A recent report from the Australia Institute as found that three in four Australians believe government funding would be better placed to train in-house public servants. 

The former Liberal State Government spent more than $5.5 million on consultancy services over its term.
