The Independent Office of Animal Welfare would not be responsible for enforcing our animal welfare laws. This would remain with the RSPCA. While there is a conversation to be had around the role of a charitable organisation policing our laws, the role of the Independent Office of Animal Welfare would be focused on giving clear, science driven, consistent advice on all issues of animal welfare here in South Australia.
