Support Grows for SA Participation in NSW Medical Cannabis Trials

Greens Health spokesperson Tammy Franks has welcomed the Liberals’ support for South Australian experts’ involvement in the New South Wales medical cannabis trials.

Greens Health spokesperson Tammy Franks has welcomed the Liberals’ support for South Australian experts’ involvement in the New South Wales medical cannabis trials.

Ms Franks will host a medical cannabis round table forum for MPs on Friday to discuss the need for sick and suffering South Australians to be able to take part in the trials.

“The fact that South Australia is the only state that is not engaged on the expert advisory panel issue is very concerning,” Ms Franks said.

“South Australia needs to get in the game, but without a captain’s call we are just waiting on the sidelines.

“We welcome the State Liberals entry into this important debate and we are hopeful that Government members will be able to attend the round table on Friday.

“The Greens hope to work collaboratively with the Government, the Opposition and crossbenchers to ensure that sick South Australians are able to participate in these trials.”
